Every Swipe Matters! We are incredibly excited to announce that we gave The Friendship Club 50+% more than 2016! We donated $4,314.56 to The Friendship Club through our Every Swipe Benefits Charity Program where a portion of every swipe goes to vetted nonprofits without costing our clients’ additional fees. Mick Collins presented the check to Jennifer Singer, executive director of The Friendship Club, at their annual Holiday Gala on Dec. 4.

While using Pay It Forward Processing may be one way to give back to your community, it’s not the only way. Here are some creative ways to get involved and make an impact that goes beyond just donating or raising funds for charity. Incentivize it. An easy way to encourage charitable giving is to offer incentives for employees-and to make it fun! Creating contests for the largest givers Casual dress day-have employees pay to dress casually Gift card or free lunch as a prize Make giving part of your culture. A company that gives is a company that lives! Yearly or quarterly stipends for employees to give to their favorite organizations Establish a set number of paid hours for volunteering or charity work Give based on your skills and interests. Giving back to the community is great in any form, but sometimes you can maximize your efforts if you choose to give back based on your company’s specific skills and resources. If you have a tech-savvy business-support students in STEM. Ask your department heads to come up with a job-related volunteering project Get local with it. Sometimes the best way to give is when you can support something where the community gets to know your company face to face. Volunteer company time instead of asking for employees to use their own money Become a local sponsor of an event or group to build stronger local relationships Use this as a great PR opportunity for both the community and your company!

As humans, we lead our lives based on deep seated beliefs. The Pay it Forward team has spent a ton of time lately in coaching sessions and we are all PUMPED for our future-but most importantly, we believe in the journey! Since you’re reading this, we thought we would share some of those beliefs with you, our biggest fans. WE BELIEVE in answering the phones with a smile. Isn’t is nice to talk to someone who is smiling and attentive than someone who sounds like you’ve called in the middle of their Candy Crush game? We think so. WE BELIEVE in FUUUUUN! One time, our CEO returned from a trip to find her entire office wrapped in her least favorite color, PINK! It is not uncommon to hear laughter coming from all parts of the office over the funniest meme of the day. We also have been known to have random office dance parties. If you can’t have fun, what can you have? A boring life, that’s what. “I believe in the power of leggings and flip flops.” -Nicole Osibodu, Director of Fun + Awesomeness (yes, that’s a thing here) WE BELIEVE that going the extra mile is the only way to go. “Treat others as you would like to be treated” is on the walls of the PFP office and we LOVE when people go the extra mile for us. We celebrate the differences as we all stand together as a united team. WE BELIEVE in health. Our PFP team are all health nuts. The sound of the blender in the morning for our Shaklee Life Shakes is soothing to us. We take our vitamins and make sure we’re all drinking enough water. We’ll even admit that we are 100% spoiled with an in-office personal training staff, Travel Fit Coaching. We hope you enjoyed a glimpse into what drives our company culture and beliefs. Why do most companies lock you in contract jail? It’s simple: 1. When signing a contract, you are stuck with them for the length of the contract and they do NOT have to tell you when they raise your rates. A contract does NOT guarantee your rates will remain the same as at signing. 2. There are cancellation and termination fees. These can range from a flat fee of $250-$22,000 (yes, you read that correct)! Sometimes the termination fee is the percentage of profit they think they would have made had you stayed the length of your contract. This can be a ton of money! 3. Overtime, they know you might want to get out of your contract and they don’t want you to do that! Hence #2… Why Pay if Forward does NOT make you sign a contract. Ever. 1. We quote you a rate and that rate never changes. 2. Ethically, we think cancellation and termination fees are wrong. So we don’t charge them. 3. We believe that you should stay with a business or company because you want to, not because you have to.

Invest in learning. Want to create raving employees that love your company and stay for a long time?Invest in their brains! Sending them to training and industry conferences will make them more valuable to you, the team, and your customers…and they will love you! We buy self-improvement books that our teams wants to read and then discuss them and implement what we think would improve our company. Support innovation. Being small gives you an advantage over bigger competitors–you can afford to “do things that don’t scale.“ Treat your people right. If you treat your team well, then they will support your vision and goals with everything they have. According to a March 2015 survey by Totaljobs, a U.K.-based job placement agency: “Work-life balance is by far the most universal concern for 50% of the workforce.” We encourage and support the “family first” mentality at Pay it Forward. We encourage our employees to attend all their kids field trips as a chaperone and we also have impromptu bring-your-kid/dog-to-work days when life happens! If you always run your team at 110%, you will burn them out just when you need them to be on top of their game. Have fun. Celebrate life together! Decorate their work spaces for their birthdays, create new holidays and celebrate them as a team, there are so many ways to create a fun environment for your company without costing you a ton of money! If you fail to take the time and acknowledge a job well done, after a while your team will see no point in giving you their all
